Brenda Snipes Retracts Resignation, Will Fight Rick Scott’s Suspension.

Why Now is the time to consider owning gold

This is a joke, right?  Late Friday afternoon, soon-to-be former Governor Rick Scott of Florida suspended Broward County Election Board Supervisor, Brenda Snipes who had submitted her resignation effective January 4, 2019.  Typical of the corruption throughout Broward County, Snipes early Saturday retracted her resignation letter as she now plans to fight the suspension.

Scott suspended Brenda Snipes because of the circus surrounding last month’s elections on the grounds of malfeasance and incompetence by Brenda Snipes, news of which went viral for weeks putting a spotlight on more than a decade of questionable actions and occurrences by the Broward County Election Board all under the watch of Brenda Snipes.

In response, attorney, Burnadette Norris Weeks is accusing Scott of holding Brenda Snipes to a different standard while levying false/”unfair” allegations, attempting to steal Snipes’ pension and…WAIT FOR IT…

being “mean-spirited.” (She forgot to mention “racist.” Not to worry, it’s coming.)  According to Weeks, the suspension it is “as if there can never be a mistake made.”  (There goes the “victim” card.) That’s rich. What about a decade plus of what irregularities all under the watch of Brenda Snipes?

She [Weeks] also suggested the Republican governor was motivated by politics, removing the Democratic supervisor in a heavily Democratic county.

“We believe it’s a malicious action that should not have happened,” she said, adding later that “all of the voters of Broward County should be concerned.”

..After the November election, which brought unflattering national attention to her operation, Snipes submitted a letter of resignation that was to take effect Jan. 4, a date that likely would have kept the current governor from selecting her replacement. Scott was elected to the U.S. Senate and will be sworn in on Jan. 3.

Scott, in his announcement of the suspension Friday, said “taxpayers should no longer be burdened by paying a salary for a supervisor of elections who has already announced resignation.” He said Antonacci would “be solely focused on running free and fair elections, will not be running for election and will bring order and integrity back to this office”[…]

All About the Benjamins and that Darned Sense of Entitlement.

Alas, we have it. It is all about the money which should be no problem.  While Brenda Snipes earns more than $184,000 per annum, her pension is $74,000 per annum.  To that I say, let Florida’s Democratic Party, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama cut Brenda Snipes a check from their personal account(s) since it is no secret that Snipes who claims that she is retiring so that she could spend more time with her family is a Democratic operative who has served the left well over the years.

Oh and that sense of entitlement thing? Forget it.  Brenda Snipes and her predecessor has for more than a decade screwed voters over and as many suspect, titled election results to favor the left’s desired candidate.

Or was Snipes’ talk of retirement just that….TALK.

Btw, in lieu of the suspension, Snipes now plans to remain in office until 2020. Something tells me that staying until 2020 was the plan all along.  After all, Snipes waffled back and forth about retiring or staying on through the 2020 presidential election as the circus unfolded a few weeks back.

Finally, why is the attorney for the Broward County Board of Elections representing Brenda Snipes?  Weeks represented Snipes and the Broward County Board of Elections throughout last month’s fiasco.  As reported last month by TheBlaze:

Burnadette Norris-Weeks, an attorney for Snipes, dismissed the outcry against Snipes as “political gamesmanship at its best,” saying that Broward and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections “have done nothing more than count all votes as required by law. Ridiculous!”

Conflict of Interest?

Then again, this is BROWARD COUNTY whose claim to fame on many subjects brings into question the integrity, competency and intent of its bureaucrats, the majority of whom are Progressive operatives.

Back in 2015, when the discussion of a ballot initiative that proposed the appointment “rather than electing future election supervisors” to the Broward County Elections’ Board, the same woman, Broward elections attorney Burnadette Norris-Weeks through a wrench into the discussion by making it all about race.   According to Weeks, “a proposal to make the elections supervisor job an appointed position, rather than elected, is ‘awful and racist.”  The initiative went no further. Brenda Snipes announced her plans to run for re-election shortly thereafter.

Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes announced she was running for re-election 24 hours after the post below appeared on Browardbeat.com.

She said that the post prompted her decision, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Snipes is quoted by Brittany Wallman in the Sun-Sentinel as stating: “I just feel strongly that this is a position for the people. I think it should be elected…”

Democratic activist Sean Phillippi wrote in Browardbeat.com that a county commissioner, who he didn’t name, would soon propose appointing rather than electing future election supervisors.  He supported the idea. He said that Snipes announced candidacy for re-election “doesn’t change anything” and the proposal would still be debated….
