The difference between Roy Moore’s situation and the Hollywood story, the unreliable accuser, and the WaPo’s manifest bias, means I currently believe Moore.
Sorry for the long silence, but it’s been an all family, all the time few days, interspersed with a quick-turnaround legal research project. I’ve been a bit insulated from the news, but have not missed the claim that Judge Roy Moore molested a 14-year-old in 1979. I find myself peculiarly unconvinced that he did something wrong.
The question is whether I’m being a hypocrite, because I was so ready to accept that the Hollywood types have done wrong, while I’m currently still willing to give Roy Moore the benefit of the doubt. Here’s my reasoning, so you can see what I think and tell me if there’s merit to my argument or if I’m lying to myself. First, here are the reasons I believe that some, although perhaps not all, of the allegations about Hollywood types are true:
1. Hollywood has had a reputation as a sinful fleshpot for 100 years.
2. We know with near certainty, based upon decades of memoirs, that the casting couch was a real thing.
3. We know from looking at the Hollywood product in the last couple of decades that Hollywood has no room for conventional middle-class morality.
4. In the case of Harvey Weinstein, he was caught on a wire admitting that he’d sexually assaulted a woman — only to have the case dropped when he donated a nice sum of money to the prosecutor’s campaign fund.
5. Hollywood circled the wagons around Roman Polanski, who had pleaded guilty to drugging and sodomizing a 13-year-old.
6. Hollywood circled the wagons around Woody Allen, who had an affair with (and took naked pictures of) his own adopted daughter. The jury is out on whether he sexually assaulted his other daughter, Dylan, because it may have been a vicious lie in a hard-fought separation with Mia Farrow or he may be a vile pedophile. Significantly, Rowan Farrow believes absolutely that his father assaulted his sister.
7. The accusations regarding figures in Hollywood and the mainstream media are blue on blue. That is, it’s Progressive reporters, writing in Progressive outlets, attacking Progressive producers, directors, actors, and media figures. It’s also Progressive actors and media figures making allegations against their own kind. In other words, the accusations are not intended to defame Progressives. They are truly directed at the alleged conduct. That makes them seem more credible to me, because it lacks a larger political agenda.
And here are the reasons I’m dubious about the charges against Roy Moore (as of now):
1. The timing is suspect. Although Roy Moore has been a controversial figure in the public eye for forty years, this apocalyptic story was never even whispered about before. Instead, it hits now, right in the middle of the sexual harassment zeitgeist. More than that, though, although sexual harassment has been at the top of the news for weeks now, this unexpected narrative “coincidentally” erupted just when it was too late to remove Moore from the ballot and substitute another Republican candidate. In other words, rather than appearing to be a legitimate complaint, it appears to be a classic October surprise — even though it actually happened in November.
2. The story is almost forty years old. As I mentioned with regard to Trump and the stories about him, there is something of a pass for old acts. After all, that’s why we have a statute of limitations for most crimes other than murder: memories and, in the case, mores change. Even assuming solely for the sake of argument that the charges are true, the reality is that, back in 1979, we were in a very different moral cycle. In hippie territory, everyone was having free love, including young teens. And in deep South territory, people still weren’t that far away from Jerry Lee Lewis’s 13-year-old wife. While that 13 year old raised eyebrows, viewing young teens as viable wives or girlfriends wasn’t alien to Southern culture.
3. Paul Mirengoff, no friend of Moore, points out that the woman making the charges is apparently emotionally unstable. More than that, she has a habit of accusing men of sexually harassing her. Maybe they did, especially since she was a vulnerable, suicidal, teenage drug and alcohol addict — or maybe she’s a few cards short of a full deck. This is not a credible witness.
4. I simply don’t believe the WaPo’s reporting in this instance. As I mentioned above, the stories about Hollywood and other media are Progressive on Progressive attacks, so the political angle is absent. Here, however, we’ve seen for the past two years that the WaPo functions as the media arm of the Democrat Party (and, when necessary, of those in the GOP, such as McConnell, who are still fighting a rearguard battle against Trump and Trumpism). When a media outlet is that manifestly partisan, why in the world would people believe it when it publishes a well-timed attack (see point 1, above) to destroy the political opposition?
So, am I justifying the unjustifiable or am I accurately reading the credibility of this latest attack against a Trumpinista candidate?
Former Democrat pollster Pat Caddell has referred to Republicans and Democrats as, respectively, ‘the stupid party’ and the ‘corrupt party.’ That labeling gets more appropriate every day, as evidenced by the way the dysfunctional GOP establishment is helping along the persecution of Judge Roy Moore, its Alabama Senate candidate..
As you’ll remember, Judge Moore ran in the Alabama Primary against one of Mitch McConnell’s swamp creatures, Luther Strange. McConnell and his fellow New Tories spent $30 million dollars on the campaign (an absurdly large amount in Alabama) to get him in, but the people of Alabama knew exactly who Judge Roy Moore was, and weren’t impressed. And he won by a substantial percentage.
Moore, a Trump ally, was leading substantially in the polls going up to the election against Leftist Democrat Doug Jones. So the Washington(Com)Post drummed up allegations from forty years ago that Judge Moore, single at the time, had ‘initiated an encounter of a sexual nature’ with a minor of 14… just after the Post endorsed Doug Jones, of course. Their chief source admitted openly that she had something of a troubled history and credibility issues, with, as she put it, ‘a messy divorce and a lot of financial problems.’
Now that she’s been so helpful and all, The (Com)Post has likely seen to it that at least the financial problems are alleviated. They also managed to find a couple of other girls (one of them a Democrat operative) who weren’t minors at the time but claimed that Judge Roy Moore flirted with them or had a meal with them or something.
BTW, the age of consent in the Magnolia State is sixteen, (believe me, as a single gentleman I had the age of consent in every state of the Union memorized at one time) and even the minor herself admitted that while there was some kissing and fondling, no actual coitus or statutory rape occurred. So even if this actually happened and there’s no proof at all it did, we have only this person’s word for what occurred. And there’s good reason to believe it never did.
Judge Roy Moore has run for five offices successfully over the years and this never came up in oppo research until now, a couple of weeks away from the election when it’s convenient. What are the odds of that, especially in the last primary where all that money was tossed around, and so many attack ads filled with lies were aired?
And there’s no prior history or rumors of this sort of thing concerning Judge Roy Moore. Normally, people involved in this kind of behavior leave a trail of incidents behind them…like Bill Clinton, for instance.
Judge Moore has totally denied the encounter with the 14-year-old ever happened. I suggest you listen to what Judge Moore had to say about it to Sean Hannity.
Another interesting item has surfaced recently. This still counts as a developing story, as Matt Drudge would say, but the OAS Network reportedly just aired a segment that there are recordings that show WAPO reporter Beth Reinhard bribing women with offers of $1,000 to smear Judge Roy Moore. And that the recordings have now been turned over to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department. As I said, this is still not confirmed. But if it’s true, The (Com)Post and Ms. Reinhard are in a world of hurt.
All that aside, what’s interesting to me most is the GOPe’s reaction to all this. Democrats can be guilty of lying, massive corruption and graft, rigging primaries, open bribery and even national security offenses and the reaction of Democrats is always to circle the wagons around them, not matter what. Just ask the Clintons, Rep. Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters or Al Sharpton.
The New Tories in the Republican Party? They actually try to outdo the Democrats and collaborate with them enthusiastically in killing their own.
Mitch McConnell practically tripped over his own feet in his haste to say that Judge Moore should withdraw. And he also saw to it that the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) pulled all funding from Moore’s campaign. And along with his fellow New Tories, he’s now trying to talk Luther Strange into running as a write in candidate, in hopes he would get just enough votes to throw the election to Democrat Doug Jones. Anything in order to keep a Trump ally out of the Senate, eh Mitch? And McConnell has been joined by a number of other GOPe New Tories and #NeverTrumpers.
In a fascinating quid pro quo, a joint fundraising committee benefiting Moore and a handful of Republican Party organs filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Friday removing the National Republican Senatorial Committee as one of its beneficiaries. Going forward, the committee’s fundraising will benefit Moore’s Senate campaign, the Alabama Republican Party, and the Republican National Committee but not the NRSC. Here’s hoping more such PACs and fundraising groups do the same, and concentrate on funding the candidates who are willing to support President Trump’s agenda and our second American revolution. The New Tories of the GOPe are worthy only of contempt and need to be defeated and thrown from power.
The people of Alabama know who Judge Roy Moore is, and that he is a G-dly, honest and principled man. And they’re not stupid. This baying of jackals will fail, and Judge Roy Moore will be Alabama’s next senator.
“But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
But the king shall rejoice in G-d; every one that swears by him shall
glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.”
(Psalm 63, by דוד המלך, AKA King David)

Angry Democrats finally got their chance to howl as a result of Wednesday’s elections in two states, New Jersey and Virginia. Here are some of the usual suspects:
A Wake-Up Call for Trump and Republicans (Alice Stewart, CNN)
Voters Yearn for an End to the Trump Era (E.J. Dionne, Washington Post)
The Fundamentals Favor Democrats in 2018 (Nate Silver, FiveThirtyEight)
The Anti-Trump Wave Has Come, and GOP Can’t Stop It (Jonathan Chait, NY Magazine)
Virginia Rejects Your Hateful Politics, Mr. Trump (New York Times)
Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and even Eric Holder likewise called this a sure sign that this was a referendum on President Trump rather than one victory in a solid blue state and a second one in a state that’s trending blue and has had Democrat governors for some time.
And you know what? They’re right, it was a referendum. Just not the one they think it was.
New Jersey was pretty much always a done deal. The fact that Obama BFF Chris Christie identified as a Republican meant absolutely nothing, since he followed the blue state model to a T, with the result that New Jersey joined the growing roster of Blue States on their way to bankruptcy – Illinois, Maine, Connecticut, and Maryland to name just a few. If the people of New Jersey want to replace a Republican who governed like a Blue State Democrat with a real Blue State Democrat instead of Christie’s Lieutenant governor, it’s simply more of the same. You can call it what you want(I don’t want to be rude, so don’t ask me what I call it) but it’s not exactly a referendum on the president.
Now Virginia, that’s something different, although not as different as the Left and their media would have you believe. The counties in Northern Virginia just over over the Potomac are essentially DC suburbs. They trend mostly Democrat. There’s also the fact that Terry McAuliffe illegally granted voting rights to well over 200,000 ex-cons, and even went as far as signing individual amnesties one by one when the courts intervened. So it could be said to a certain extent that Virginia is now effectively a blue state dominated by one large Democrat leaning metro area.
But that’s by no means the whole story.
The Dems took this one by 8 points to put progressive Democrat Ralph Northum in the Governor’s mansion as well as taking some seats in the House of delegates. Fun fact; the usual crooked media polls got this all wrong again, with their polls showing a tight race with Northum leading but within the margin of error. Remember that, because we’ll come back to it later.
The Democrats went all out for this one. They spent lots of money, ran some of the vilest political ads in memory and even brought Barack Hussein Obama in to gin up black turnout. And yes, the population of government workers in Northern VA turned out en masse to vote in favor of keeping their jobs and perks.
And it worked. But 8 points, when all the polls were predicting a close race? What happened is that the election was indeed a referendum, not on President Trump but on the establishment do nothing GOP trying to thwart the president’s agenda at every turn.
Ed Gillespie, being an establishment Republican had a strategy that was almost Clintonesque. He made a few Trump like noises on the campaign trail, but with a wink to his pals in Virginia and in DC that there was nothing to really worry about…once he got in, he could revert to kind. This has worked more than once for this kind of Republican. You lie to the base, get them thinking they have to choose the lesser of two evils and trust you and once you’re safely in office, it’s business as usual.
If it had worked, you would have seen these creatures pulling this stuff en masse in the midterms. It failed because Trump voters were wise to it and simply didn’t go to the polls. And that’s the secret behind the unexpected big win the Democrats got in Virginia this time. Gillespie, with the exception of a few Trump=lite noises, ran the same, scripted GOP-e campaign. And he also showed his hand by making a point of not showing up in the more rural, red parts of the state very much. He took those votes for granted.
And that of course, is the real referendum. The GOP establishment still hasn’t really learned you can only lie to your base so many times. They ain’t gonna fall for the old ‘kick the football’ ruse again.
There’s a faction in the Republican Party that absolutely hates its base voters with a disgust and scorn that is without precedent in American politics. A big chunk of the party’s leadership belongs to it, as do the Bushes and a number of ‘conservative’ pundits. This attitude goes back to the days of the Tea Party and predates President Trump. He was merely the first presidential candidate to latch on to that energy and harness it, not just from Republicans but from disgusted Democrats and independents as well.
When Trump won, they were almost as shocked as the Democrats and their media were. Once they recovered, their tactic became to either do their best to wait things out by delaying and frustrating Trump’s agenda or, like John McCain,Bob Corker and Jeff Flake, to actively oppose it.
So what we’re seeing now is a reckoning.
Mitch McConnell, after lying to the voters about how he’d repeal ObamaCare to get reelected has an 18% approval rating in his home state. Corker and Flake were incapable of being re-elected, and chose to jump ship. There are a lot of others who were watching the Virginia race to see if the old con would work. They now realize it didn’t, and I predict you’ll see more resignations in the house and senate.
And by the way, speaking of ObamaCare, Ed Gillespie hardly if ever mentioned it during his campaign. This is in a state where premiums are increasing by 50%.
If the Republican Party is going to survive, it will have to remodel itself along the lines Trump, the Freedom Caucus and their base voters have set. Otherwise, there’s no reason for it to do so. Purges are not all bad, and can sometimes be an important swamp draining tool.

After being the darling of the left and the mainstream media for decades, how likely is it that Donna Brazile is fast becoming a pariah in the Democratic Party?
On a personal note, having once been a Democrat, I always felt that Blacks in the Democratic Party were nothing more than slaves on the Democratic plantation.
I know, I know, Democrats a few years ago banned the use of the word, “plantation.” They deemed it offensive and not politically correct. However, offense and political correctness has nothing to do with why Democrats don’t like the word, “plantation” affiliated with the Democrats. They need to distance themselves from the word because it speaks truth to power.
The Congressional Black Caucus, Black legislatures on state and local levels and yes, in my opinion, the likes of Vernon Jordan a former adviser to Bill Clinton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, DeRay McKesson, Marc Lamont Hill, Van Jones, Roland Martin, Michael Eric Dyson, Donna Brazile and others, many of whom dedicated their life and blood to the Democratic Party while turning a blind eye to the fraud, corruption and illegalities of the Clintons and Barack Obama are nothing more than house slaves on the Democratic plantation.
From the moment Barack Obama was elected, white Democrats from the bureaucracy to big labor to the mainstream media believed that an Obama presidency meant that it was now copastetic to attack and denigrate Blacks and when they did, theirs was a search and destroy mentality that was not intended for all Blacks but those who strayed or refused to live on the Democratic plantation such as Republican and Conservative Blacks, man or woman.
Moving on since this post is not about race…
Enter November 2017 where six days ago Donna Brazile exposed:
the DNC’s corruption;
picking winners and losers;
the DNC giving Queen Hillary reign while deny others on state and local levels;
Brazile was so concerned with Rich’s death that she used her brief, only phone call from Hillary Clinton after the election loss to bring him up. She asked Clinton to use some of the millions of dollars the campaign had in order to set up a reward fund to find his murderer. But Hillary said she “really had to go.”
I knew the campaign had over $3 million set aside in a legal fund. Could she help me get this lawsuit started? And don’t forget the murder of Seth Rich, I told her. Did she want to contribute to Seth’s reward fund? We still hadn’t found the person responsible for the tragic murder of this bright young DNC staffer.
You’re right, she said. We’re going to get to that. But she really had to go.
questionable alliances between the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign and their roles in rigging:
the 2016 Democratic primaries against Bernie Sanders; and
ultimately the 2016 presidential election.
Donna Brazile may find herself exiled from the Democratic master’s house to the fields of the Democratic plantation (metaphorically speaking).
Brazile is under attack from the DNC and their pitbulls in the Communist media complex who for years covered up wrongdoings and scandals by Barack Obama, his administration, Hillary Clinton, Progressives bureaucrats, the DNC and its officers; yes, including Donna Brazile.
Last year during the 2016 presidential debates, Brazile snuck Clinton the questions in advance of the debate. When called out in the summer of 2016 by Megyn Kelly formerly of Fox News, Brazile invoked her being a Christian woman, pointed out that she did not like being persecuted and denied the nefarious deed.
Right around the time of the convention, the leaked emails revealed Hillary’s campaign was grabbing money from the state parties for its own purposes, leaving the states with very little to support down-ballot races. A Politicostory published on May 2, 2016, described the big fund-raising vehicle she had launched through the states the summer before, quoting a vow she had made to rebuild “the party from the ground up … when our state parties are strong, we win. That’s what will happen.”
Yet the states kept less than half of 1 percent of the $82 million they had amassed from the extravagant fund-raisers Hillary’s campaign was holding, just as Gary had described to me when he and I talked in August. When the Politicostory described this arrangement as “essentially … money laundering” for the Clinton campaign, Hillary’s people were outraged at being accused of doing something shady. Bernie’s people were angry for their own reasons, saying this was part of a calculated strategy to throw the nomination to Hillary….
Then there is Brazile’s infamous call to Bernie Sanders which alludes to my mention of her need to wash away her demons.
…I told Bernie I had found Hillary’s Joint Fundraising Agreement. I explained that the cancer was that she had exerted this control of the party long before she became its nominee. Had I known this, I never would have accepted the interim chair position, but here we were with only weeks before the election.
Bernie took this stoically. He did not yell or express outrage. Instead he asked me what I thought Hillary’s chances were. The polls were unanimous in her winning but what, he wanted to know, was my own assessment?
I had to be frank with him. I did not trust the polls, I said. I told him I had visited states around the country and I found a lack of enthusiasm for her everywhere….
The revelations in Donna Brazile’s book appears to be moments of “I told you so” from those of us on the Right who smelled a rat from day one Bernie Sanders’ supporters who alleged claims of voter fraud and rigging the election have also been vindicated not to mention the Progressives on the extreme who desperately want to rid themselves of the Clintons in light of rumors that Hillary plans to run again in 2020, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Schumer and other long-term Democratic swamp dwellers who again would get behind the Clintons no holds barred.
As for Donna Brazile, well the left’s pitbulls are coming after her and with a vengeance. Brazile, the houseslave is standing on the Democratic Party plantation’s front porch on the verge of getting her arse kicked into the fields with the other slaves.
Progressives are going to use Brazile to send a message. i.e., keep the other slaves in check….and so it begins.
We already have an idea on where this is going beginning with Clinton lover, Whoopi Goldberg on The View, Monday.
Donna Brazile is scheduled to appear on The View either today (Tuesday) or Wednesday where I expect Whoopi Goldberg will either steer the conversation toward President Donald Trump and away from Hillary Clinton and campaign because in Whoopi’s world, it’s always Trump’s fault or denigrate Brazile for stepping off the plantation, if only for a moment or at least until Brazile herself discredits her entire book. Will follow up in a later post on that.
Giving the phrase “war stories” all new meaning, the Clinton News Network gives voice to Robby Mook and Clinton operatives, the objective of which is to malign Donna Brazile’s credibility (provided she has any), blur the facts until there is nothing left but rubble and lie, lie, lie, something that Progressives are really good at.
Talking points: Ignore Donna Brazile, ignore her book, ignore her allegations, ignore the Clinton mafia, the Communist media complex because “all this is water under the bridge” and let’s focus on Donald Trump. Oh and for heaven’s sake, don’t mention the dossier of which Lyin’ Robby Mook claims to know nothing.
ABC News “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos — Donna Brazile gave President Donald Trump plenty of ammunition — how dare she.
Of course, Senator Elizabeth Warren while admitting that the 2016 election was rigged, it’s all water under the bridge, so let’s move on.
The Communist media complex, case in point Joe Scarborough, his sidekick Mika Brzezinski and puppets responds as we would expect them. Feign shock, blame Trump. Donna Brazile and let’s move on. It’s revolting to watch.
Then there are the Clintonista and Democratic Strategist, Christy Setzer, who would run Donna Brazile out of dodge rather than admit the findings. Who better to take this looney bird on than Trucker Carlson.
Carlson also took the discussion to a Bernie Sanders’ supporter who suspected last year during the 2016 Democratic primaries that the system was rigged against her candidate.
Let the attacks and name calling begin short of attacking Donna Brazile based on the color of her skin because that is how Progressive roll and courtesy of a Caucasian, male, Clinton sock puppet, Richard Goodstein. What a NASTY piece of work but again that is who Progressives are.
If this is where Progressives, the Communist media complex and the DNC on behalf of the Clintons are going, this will backfire with Black America.
They may have gotten away with it if Barack Obama was still in office but it’s a new day.
Thanks to Obama, Blacks were already fleeing the Democratic Party. If Richard Goodstein’s discussion with Tucker Carlson is a sign of the hardline attacks that Progressives plan to wage against Brazile, expect a mass exodus as Progressives continue to underestimate Blacks in America.
Apparently, Richard Goodstein’s comments are a thing to come.
This morning on CBS, Oprah’s girl pal, Gayle King went after Brazile stating “Your book seems to suggest that you are bitter, you are angry and on top of that, you seem that you are hurt.” Gayle’s statement came after she called Brazile out for a statement seconds earlier that the election was not rigged. Brazile’s book implies the opposite.
Interesting interview, Gayle cuts Brazile no breaks to the point that Brazile, who reminds everyone that she is of the “establishment” calls Gayle out for the tough interview.
So what do you think? Will Donna Brazile be reigned in or is this a tactic put to use by the left to rid themselves of the Clintons once and for all? If so, how does Brazile stand to benefit?
See: The Lid’s The REAL Reason Donna Brazile Wrote Her Book. This post will be continued later but Brazile statement this morning to Gayle King on CBS (video above) that she is a member of the “Democratic establishment” and Gayle was her “editor” sounded like a dog whistle not just to Gayle but to the whole media establishment to watch their step.
Okay, I could be overthinking this. Time will tell.
“If you will stop telling lies about us, we will stop telling the truth about you”
(This remark wasn’t appropriated from a Republican, but a Democrat, Adlai Stevenson, their 1952 presidential candidate. And it fell flat for the same reason Rep (Cowboy Hat) Frederica Wilson’s accusations against a four-star retired Marine general fell flat last week; it was made against a five-star general and war hero by the name of Dwight Eisenhower. Not even Democrats believed Ike would lie in those days.)
Today, Democrats lie. In fact that’s about all they’ve got. There is not a subject they will not lie about if they think it can gain them a political advantage, or defend them if caught with a smoking revolver in their hand, as the “dossier” case now appears to be.
But unlike 1952, today, we hold these truths about Democrats to be self-evident.
So this is not an indictment of Democrats, but a simple statement of common knowledge. It would take too many pages to list even their major lies, but some of their best are found in the almost monotonous accusations of political opponents for lying, as if lying were the most scandalous of sins instead of the handiest of tools. Today Democrats have acquired the hutzpah to declare that the “dossier” smoking gun they’ve been caught holding to be a mere figment, but even more skillfully, to be able to turn every mistaken statement into a lie, as with Gen Kelly’s recollection of the precise reason Frederica Wilson stood up and showed her ass in Miami in 2015. Seems Kelly’s mistaking the “why” of her grandstanding while correctly noting her classless display of disrespect still amounted to a lie.
In their world.
And who, even today, if the subject of Iraq and WMD’s, comes up, doesn’t recognize that “Bush lied and people died” slogan? That Bush didn’t lie, or in fact, wasn’t even mistaken about those WMD’s, has been lost in the mist of history, all because everyone only remembers that catchy phrase, proving how well the Democrats can make a lie become truth just by repeating it over and over again.
Our Bible tells to “pray without ceasing”, while theirs teaches them to “lie without ceasing”.
You have to be schooled to be able to lie at such a high level of calculation.
Ralph Northam v Ed Gillespie, Virginia, 2017…Why Lying matters
So, say what you will about the Republican establishment, even in Delaware (well maybe), GOPe simply aren’t this low. They are elitists, very clubsy, and will use their rules to keep grass roots voters at arms length from party decision making. They are like front office corporate executives that none of the workers really like.
But they aren’t crass liars or thieves, while Democrats, on the other hand, are the grand theft auto/bank robber-scale of thieves. And because they are such expert liars, they can impoverish entire sections of our society, then lay the blame at the feet of the Republicans, who are so dainty and unwilling to roll up their sleeves to fight for those segments of society, leaving the poor with no choice but to accept their fate.
After all, when southern state government was a one-party affair, roughly 1880-1976, that one party was the Democrat Party. In those early days ALL the white supremacists in Virginia were Democrats.
Actually that has not changed.
What the Republican Party had generally forgotten the past several years is that one of its principal missions was always to restore the original Republican promise to all citizens. And to fight like hell to do it.
That fight has become entwined in the populist movement called “Trumpism”, or MAGA, a movement of little people, the common man and woman, and is much reviled by the modern Republican Establishment. Thanks to Jeff Flake, Bob Corker and probably Steve Bannon and others, that fight has now gone national…a little ahead of schedule.
Bathed in this soap opera of animosity with the GOP establishment for several years anyway, long before Trump, many MAGA-supporters in Virginia believe it’s not worth their time to vote R in the November 7 election.
I’m here to tell you why MAGA Virginians should care.
In 2008 Barack Obama got 1.96m votes, or 52.6% compared to a weak candidate, John McCain’s 1.73m, or 46.3%. Remember? It was an historical wave election. VA Senator Tim Kaine- D, was governor then.
In 2012 Obama rcvd 1.97m votes, 51.2%, (vs Romney’s 1.82m, 47.3%), almost flat versus 2008. Bob McDonnell, a Republican, was governor in 2012, and harder to cheat.
In 2016, with another Democrat as governor, Terry McAuliffe, Hillary beat Donald Trump, 49.4% to 44.4%, outdoing Obama’s best showing by almost a quarter of a million votes. Thank Terry McAuliffe.
Fabulously wealthy, and close friend to the Clinton’s, McAuliffe came to Virginia to turn the state blue, and leave no stone unturned in securing a source of new votes in keeping it that way, plus finding ways to make a few bucks for himself and his friends along the way, as was always his nature to do.
McAuliffe carried out his end of the bargain, turning Virginia blue. It was the other swing states that failed.
Without the cooperation of the GOP Virginia Assembly, McAuliffe had to use his pen-and-phone to grant blanket pardons for Virginia felons, over 200,000 to augment standard voter-machine hacks in select counties and precincts, and wind and nod illegal immigrants to vote in northern Virginia. Hillary’s quarter million gain in Virginia was as suspect as California’s 3 million illegals who voted out there, drawing into question whether she actually won a real majority after all.
Virginia was planned to become a jewel in the crown of a new blue majority, a swing-state no longer.
With a new sheriff in Washington, stealing votes will be more difficult in Virginia, as many of their methods are outlawed. But as long as key counties in northern Virginia are controlled by leftists, and illegals allowed to run amok in those counties, it will be close every election. The Democrat candidate, Northam, is playing some tough cards with sanctuary city rhetoric as long as MS-13 and drugs are a part of that template. If President Trump reduces the federal work force by 100,000, as many as 200,000 federal employees may leave the region…an unemployment surge we’d all like to see. But not this year.
The Dem’s need to widen the wedge between MAGA-Trump voters and the GOP establishment.
The photo from a Democrat campaign flyer at the top is not a sign of Democrat panic, but rather a window into their soul. They actually see the world this way.
MAGA Virginians need to save the Old Dominion from the grip of the Left first. It doesn’t matter that Ed Gillespie or his team will not see this leftist threat the same way. Trump is pushing Ed’s election anyway, knowing Ed will sign into law what the Virginia Assembly sends him. And that Ed’s voter-guardians around the state’s poll both will play it straight, just as Bob McDonnell’s troops did in 2012.
The fate of the Republican establishment is pretty much sealed, with the early abdication of Flake and Corker. But it will happen on a state-by-state basis. There will be no H-bomb in the Senate…they will drip, drip, drip themselves into irrelevance, possibly by the end of the Trump’s term.
Where Virginia will be on the list of state’s that have flipped is anyone’s guess. But it will be before Delaware.
Just never, never forget that the first duty is to keep the barbarians away from the Virginia gate.
Easy Ed Gillespie is a good man. He won’t lie, cheat or steal, and he is no Jeff Flake who will go against the people out of personal spite or meanness.
