The Bookworm Beat 9/5/16 — the illustrated edition and open thread

The phone refused to stop ringing this morning, something I greatly resented because I have a great post in mind. I won’t be able to sit down to write that post for some hours yet, but I do have available a huge batch of wonderful cartoons and posters, with more to follow in the coming days. (By the way, I won’t apologize if I’ve published some of these before. After the pleasure of reviewing hundreds of political cartoons and posters over the years, I sometimes lose track of what I’ve shared with you — but be assured that, if I share something more than once, it must be really good.)

Regarding this next poster, I don’t usually make jokes about Hillary’s looks, which she can’t control, when her ideology and actions, over which she has total control, are such appropriate and easy targets. However, in light of the naked Donald sculptures that popped up, and the Leftist’s subsequent gleeful mocking, I think turnabout is fair play — so this next one is aimed, not at Hillary, but at the despicable Left:
