On Thursday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) were among Republicans leading the calls for Congress to release a four page memo to the public which reveals alleged government surveillance (FISA) abuses.
As reported to Fox Business, Rep. Gaetz stated that, “The allegations contained in this important intelligence document go to the very foundations of our democracy and they require an immediate release to the public in my opinion.”

I viewed the classified report from House Intel relating to the FBI, FISA abuses, the infamous Russian dossier, and so-called “Russian collusion.” What I saw is absolutely shocking.
This report needs to be released–now. Americans deserve the truth. #ReleaseTheMemo pic.twitter.com/oP2UNujKQL

As reported on SarahCarter.com:
A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates….
I was told by a congressional source that “roughly 50 to 60 Congressional members viewed the House Intelligence Committee #FISAabuse report” and many are calling to #ReleaseTheDocuments

LOU DOBBS/JUDICIAL WATCH, CHRIS FARRELL: New memo reveals possible FISA abuse
It is fair to say that Progressives’ heads are exploding as Reps. Gaetz, Jordan and Sarah Carter last night on Fox News/Hannity exposed FISA abuses in which the Obama administration and members of the FBI, DOJ and Clinton campaign in a not so silent coup colluded in a massive plot to take down President Donald J. Trump. One thing is certain heads need to roll, let the prosecutions begin and people need to be locked up (post due process).

In lieu of the above, Rep. Matt Gaetz on Thursday released the following press statement:
Congressman Matt Gaetz Issues Statement Demanding Intelligence Committee Release Classified Memo on DOJ and FBI to Public After Viewing DocumentWashington, D.C. — Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) today released the following statement after reviewing information from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, including a memo held in the Congressional Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) that contained previously-undisclosed information involving the Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ). “The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice. The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy,” Rep. Gaetz said.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION In December, Rep. Gaetz questioned Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the House Judiciary Committee hearing about the clear examples of bias and conflicts of interest at the Department of Justice (DOJ), and within Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigators. In his questions, Rep. Gaetz asked when the DOJ learned that Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce J. Ohr had contacted Christopher Steele, former British spy and author of the infamous ‘Trump dossier,’ a document called “salacious and unverified” by former FBI Director James Comey. Additionally, Rep. Gaetz asked when the DOJ discovered that Mr. Ohr’s wife, Nellie, was employed by Fusion GPS, the company that sponsored the creation and distribution of the dossier. Mr. Rosenstein said that he could not answer Rep. Gaetz’s questions, but that documents would be turned over to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence — even though the Judiciary Committee, not the Intelligence Committee, has oversight authority over the DOJ. Earlier in December, Rep. Gaetz questioned FBI Director Christopher Wray about former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe’s statement that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s misuse of a personal email server was “referred to as ‘special’” and that “the decision was made to investigate it at HQ with a small team.” In November, Reps. Gaetz, Gohmert, and Biggs, all members of the Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Director Wray, asking for an investigation to be launched into the FBI’s treatment of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during their e-mail investigation. On December 6th, Congressman Gaetz, alongside Congressmen Jim Jordan (OH-04), Mark Meadows (NC-11), Scott Perry (PA-04), Jody Hice (GA-10), and Andy Biggs (AZ-05), held a press conference calling for an investigation into the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) system and procedures that allow special treatment and bias to take place, in order to prevent “special” treatment from happening again. |
I have read the memo. The sickening reality has set in. I no longer hold out hope there is an innocent explanation for the information the public has seen. I have long said it is worse than Watergate. It was #neverTrump & #alwaysHillary. #releasethememo
