My Great-Great-Grandfather Allan Dean McWhorter fought Yankees with the 4th South Carolina Cavalry during the War of Northern Aggression. He was a “guest” at Point Lookout Prison Camp in Maryland, where conditions were horrific, with over 3,500 prisoners dying in the over crowded Hell hole in less than two years. So, I suppose Grandaddy Mac, as my Grandfather called him was lucky to get out alive. Anyway, I thought of my ancestor, one of many who fought for the Confederacy when I read this today
